Plan flights
Open a trip and select Flights. Accepted Owners and Planners can manage flight records; accepted Members can view them. Adding a traveler to a booking does not grant trip access.
Add a booking and its segments
- Open Flights and choose the add-booking action.
- Enter the airline or booking provider and optional confirmation number, notes and booking-management link.
- Add each flight segment with departure and arrival airports, dates and airport-local times. A connection such as JFK to LHR to FCO has two segments. Keep separately booked tickets in separate bookings.
- Check the airport lookup hints. If an airport is unknown or lookup is unavailable, verify the code or choose its local time zone from the city list. Changing an airport clears its previous zone without changing your entered date or time.
- Select existing trip members as travelers and add seats and baggage per traveler and segment. Every selected traveler takes all segments in that booking; use separate bookings for different routes.
- Review and save. You can save without travelers, but the booking will show Travelers not assigned.
Departure and arrival can use different time zones and local dates. Enter the confirmation's times, including overnight arrivals and date-line crossings. A repeated daylight-saving hour may require the advanced UTC offset field. Displayed times stay in the airport's zone, even when your device is elsewhere.
Import a flight confirmation
- Select Import confirmation, paste the text and request extraction.
- Review the unsaved proposal: check every segment's year, dates, airports, times and zones. Correct missing or uncertain facts.
- Match travelers to existing Trip Members. Import does not create members automatically.
- Review duplicate warnings and choose to create a booking or explicitly update an existing one.
- For an update, compare the complete replacement, including removed segments and travelers. Acknowledge warnings and approve only the result you intend.
- Open the saved booking and check it. If its saved version changed, reload and review again.
Extraction alone saves no booking. A confirmation-number match does not authorize an overwrite. Unapproved flight drafts expire after 24 hours and disappear on server restart. Retrying the same approved import returns the same booking.
Review flights during a trip
- Expand a booking or select Open booking and history for its details and history. The detail dialog supports editing and keeps validation errors visible.
- Check departures and arrivals in Navigator. They appear on their own airport-local dates; connections remain separate segments.
- When NeedsReview appears, compare the route, dates and travelers with the current trip, correct confirmed changes, and use the explicit review action. Editing alone does not dismiss other review reasons.
Moving daily plans or shifting trip dates does not move flight dates or times. Flights outside the trip range remain in Flights, with notices at the relevant Navigator boundary. Terminals and gates are manually maintained; check the airline or airport for current information.
Cancel or delete a flight record
- Open the booking and choose cancellation or deletion.
- Review the affected route and dates and confirm the intended action.
- Cancellation retains the record and removes it from normal upcoming events. Deletion permanently removes the booking and its segments.
These actions do not cancel airline tickets. ViaMore records flights; it does not buy tickets, check you in or monitor live flight status. The mobile app requires connectivity. If a manual save is interrupted, inspect saved bookings before retrying creation.
